Edinburgh Arches

I visited Edinburgh during Easter break and I was surprised to see that most of the arches on East Market Street still have the same artwork from the Burn The Walls jam last year. I’m sharing these now as next week (3rd May 2015, in case you’re reading this at a later date) there is another jam taking place which will mean these will be painted over. I was unable to get good shots of some of them due to contractors working in the area using fencing etc which meant I couldn’t get far enough away to fit the whole thing in. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy these anyway!

Those in attendance on the day included Sigh, Theme, Che, Spore and Skem.

Tilt

While out looking for a couple of murals in Glasgow, I turned a corner and saw this piece – to say I was gobsmacked to find something by French artist Tilt in a car park is an understatement. I was even more surprised to see it was painted in 2009, it still looks great and hopefully it will stay that way for a long time. Tilt has painted many of these little pieces incorporating the country’s flag, but he is best known for his ‘Panic Room’ – where he covered one half of a French hotel bedroom in graffiti while the other half remained pure white. For more about Tilt, see his website here

Gorbals Snake

Reports of a giant snake in the Gorbals, in Glasgow’s south side have not been exaggerated! But worry not, it’s just a mural by Ejek, even the little mouse seems to be safe from getting eaten. Some of you will recognise Ejek from his previous work with Rogue One at Strathclyde University and Maryhill Road, but he’s been active in the area for many years and some of his older work can still be spotted around the city centre. Smug – Argyle Street Bar

I posted work in progress photos from this mural months ago, but what with poor weather, college work etc it had taken me a long time to get back into the city to see how it looks now it’s finished. As it was a nice day, Glasgow was pretty busy, and as such it was practically impossible to get pictures without people in them – and the band Clanadonia were playing right in front of it as well. I hope you enjoy them regardless, and if you’d like to see a short video clip of Clanadonia from the same day, click on the link for my Instagram feed and you’ll find it there, along with daily posts (mostly graffiti etc, but sometimes other stuff too).
